Assessments for Clinical Purposes:
Renee uses an evidence-based approach when conducting assessments. Testing sessions can typically take up to five hours (including rest breaks), depending on the purpose of the assessment.  Renee offers assessments for a variety of clinical purposes, including:
  • Comprehensive assessments to assist with diagnosis in adults and older adults
    • Neurological conditions including multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease etc. 
    • Neurodegenerative conditions including Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, fronto-temporal dementia, lewy body dementia
    • Mild cognitive impairment
    • Traumatic brain injury and post-concussion syndrome
  • NDIS and DSP assessments
  • Memory/IQ assessment
  • Assessments to assess effects of treatment (e.g., post surgery)
  • Assessments to investigate the cognitive changes associated with psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia, depression, PTSD, and personality disorders
  • Assessments of specific learning disorders (e.g., reading, spelling, mathematics) or ADHD in adults
  • Assessments of decision making capacity for lifestyle/accommodation matters or financial matters. These assessments may also help inform the need for involvement by the Office of the Public Guardian/The Public Trustee *Please note assessments of decision making capacity are determined as appropriate on a case-by-case basis after consultation with the patient, family, and/or referring physician*

Rehabilitation and Remediation: 
  • Assessments post-stroke/TBI to assist with tailored compensatory strategies 
  • Goal Management Training (GMT) for executive dysfunction (e.g., problem solving, planning, organisation)
  • Use of evidence-based clinical interventions such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapy with tailored adaptations based on an individual's areas of cognitive difficulty (e.g., repeated sessions for memory difficulties, shorter sessions for attention difficulties)

Assessments for WorkCover/Insurance purposes:
  • Assessments to investigate the impact of injury on cognitive functioning in the context of return to work
  • Assessments to assist with TPD claims
  • Assessments of psychological functioning, personality, and effort
  • Assessments on the impact a brain injury/illness has on an individual's capacity for aspects of their daily functioning, including independent living, work function, or future employment
  • Evaluation of permanent impairment for brain injury and mental/behavioural disorders

Fees

Fees are based the Australian Psychological Society's (APS) schedule of recommended hourly fees. Please note unfortunately there is currently no Medicare rebate available for neuropsychological assessments.

Clinical assessments            Starting at $1800 (negotiable) 

(GP referred or specialist referred such as Geriatrician, Neurologist, or Psychiatrist)

These fees include:
  • 4-5 hours of testing
  • Scoring and interpretation of results
  • Report writing
  • Feedback of results

WorkCover/Insurance assessments       Total fees = $2200

(Including WorkCover, Income Protection (IP), and Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) assessments)

These fees include:
  • Comprehensive interviews/collateral information collection
  • 6-7 hours of testing
  • Personality assessment
  • Scoring and interpretation of results
  • Comprehensive report
